Athletics
Pursuing Excellence Through Athletics at King-Chavez Community High School
At KCCHS, the pursuit of excellence doesn’t stop in the classroom—it extends to the field, the court, and beyond. Athletics are a key part of our mission to support the whole child. High-quality physical education not only promotes lifelong health but also builds confidence, discipline, teamwork, and perseverance.
Just like our academic and arts programs, athletics are thoughtfully woven into the school day and expanded after school through engaging enrichment opportunities. During regular PE classes, students participate in standards-based instruction that builds essential motor skills, develops fitness, and fosters a love for movement. These lessons are aligned by grade level to ensure students are progressing both physically and mentally.
Beyond the school day, students can join free competitive sports teams and athletic clubs that reflect their interests and passions. At KCCHS, our goal is to introduce students to the joy of being active while encouraging healthy habits and lifelong wellness. Athletics are not just about competition—they’re about building character, creating community, and helping every student reach their full potential.
